Usman Zahur, Regional Director of British American Tobacco in Central Europe, said that based on more than 30 years of cooperation with Hungary, the Pecs plant can become one of the world’s major production centers for smoke-free alternatives. “This significant investment is an important step towards a smoke-free world, providing smokers with better alternatives to cigarettes,” he said. This investment further reinforces Hungary’s strategic importance in our long-term plan, according to which 50% of our revenues will be provided by new categories of products by 2035.”
The centre will mainly produce nicotine pouches and herbal heating sticks for the Hungarian and global markets.
The center will add 16 new production lines, in addition to plans to build 7,500 square meters of new production workshops.
